Launched in 1986 as the luxury brand of Honda, Acura was the first luxury Japanese export that focused on economical design.  The purpose of Acura was to compete against the brands in its luxury class:  Lexus and Infiniti.  In 1990, Acura launched the Acura Legend and Acura Integra, and later developed the NSX, which competed directly with cars made by both Porsche and Ferrari.  Acura has expanded its line to offer SUVs, sedans, a crossover luxury line, and a line of race cars.
